Entering the US From Canada

>    We made sure that our cat had all up to date shots and blood tests before leaving home and carry the papers for her along with our passports.

>    There is still some confusion about whether Canadians entering the US on a Canadian boat need to have a cruising decal, a cruising permit, or both.  We have both.  The decal can be purchased thru the DTOPS website (US $27.50), we paid the customs officer at our first port of entry for the Cruising Permit (US $19.00).

>    Along with your passports, have the boat registration paperwork handy when you first check in.

>    Although you have checked in at one port of entry, you will still have to check in at each landfall and provide Customs officers with your clearance numbers.
